Life on the Farm

These are a collection of quarter sized Springerle cookies depicting life on the farm. From top to bottom a Chalet or Farmhouse, a Rooster, a Woman Cooking, two Bee Hives,  a Dog carrying a basket, a Stag leaping over a fence, a Boy on a Rocking Horse, and a Bouquet of Roses. These are really nice because there bite size and great for kids or someone watching their figure. They make a great addition to any get together.

God Save the Queen!

One of my biggest cookies. I think of her as Elizabeth 1st, but really she could be any Queen of yore. She measures about 9” tall x 3 1/2”. She's so tall you can share with a friend. She'll have you saying, "off with her head!" (Sorry I couldn't help myself :) She is rather beautiful though and her dress has a great amount of detail in it.  A really fun cookie I make it in Springerle and Gingerbread.

Sweet Mushrooms and the Frog Prince

Three of my Mushroom Springerle cookies. Really sweet, they make me think of an enchanted forest and of course who would live amongst them but a Frog Prince! :)

Happy Friday the 13th!

Celebrating with this two layer Death by Chocolate Cake. Half the mice are made from  60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate and the others are White Chocolate. I promise none of these mice carry the plague ;)

Making Springerle

Made a big batch of Springerle today and tried out some of my new molds. Turned out pretty sweet with the help of my mixer. I've actually tried making them by hand and wow it's not easy. I can't fathom being a baker hundreds of years ago and making them every day as well as breads, cakes ect.... More picts to come :)

Springerle Cookies

Top: A Wolf-man wearing a riding jacket eating an apple. One of my favorites!
Below: Symbols of the British Isles. I use it for Springerle and for Scottish Shortbread.
Skull Cupcakes

I did these Cupcakes for a friend's daughter's Monster High Birthday party. My first official catering gig. It was a lot of fun and everybody really enjoyed them. The chocolate cake was moist and devilishly delicious and the skulls were made from solid semi sweet chocolate and were sinisterly yummy!
